Met: Last Splash, Austin, TX, 1997

Married: New York City, October 2011

Get to know us: “In December 1997 Floyd Guidry moved from Austin to Houston so that we could be together – my family was caring for our mother recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Ten years later we moved to Austin. In 2011, New York legalized same sex marriage without any resident restrictions. Dear friends and family traveled to New York to join us on the Bow Bridge in Central Park for the ceremony. For the next 4 years we considered ourselves New Yorkers – by marriage. On June 26th, 2015 our marriage was recognized in our TRUE home state of Texas – thank you SCOTUS! We were able to use our married last name.- Jilek-Guidry- at home, in Texas!– Tony Jilek-Guidry, July 8, 2015.
