Barking Hound Village (

Your pup will feel like the canine elite during a day at the Barking Hound Village. Located near the intersection of Barton Springs and Lamar, the chic dog boutique hotel and day spa has an outdoor play area with covered space, misting fans, bone-shaped pools, and playscapes. Dogs are grouped by size and temperament before enjoying a fun-filled day with a minimum of five 30-minute playtimes. You can even request a bath for your dog so that he will be nice and clean when you pick him up from his day of play.

Dogadillo (

Located in the dog-friendly Hill Country Galleria, Dogadillo is a family-owned pet boutique for dogs with discriminating taste. Only premium pet food that has been approved by owner (and former biochemist) Mike is offered, along with a wide variety of freshly baked treats–including cupcakes and birthday cakes–for your pampered pet. For the fashion conscious, there is high-end clothing, along with accessories, to fit every dog’s style, personality, and breed, from teacup Chihuahuas to Great Danes. Vizslas Bella, Chief People Greeter, and Biscuit host the monthly Yappy Hour, where both people and pooches can enjoy a little treat while they mix and mingle.

Fetch (

Fetch, on Bee Cave Road in Westlake Hills, is billed as “the hot spot for best friends with cold noses.” Since 2003, this small pet boutique–modeled after those in the San Francisco Bay area–has made it possible to keep Austin’s fur kids stylishly dressed in chic collars and designer duds. The store also carries all-natural organic pet treats and cleaning products and a wide selection of unique toys. Owner Cynthia, a former corporate attorney, has been highly praised for her wonderful customer service and sense of canine style.

Stop by the award-winning boutique on Woof Wednesdays for special deals, and bring your dog out on the last Thursday of the month for the signature Poochinis & Peticures benefit events.

The Domain not only offers high-end shopping for Austinites but for their four-legged friends as well. Metrodog is the place to spoil your urban pet with quality collars, toys, beds, accessories, and all-natural, holistic dog food and treats. Some of the trendy apparel found in the store has been featured on the catwalks in New York during “Pet Fashion Week.” The boutique is locally owned, offers locally made products, and always seems to be hosting or taking part in fundraisers for animal charities in Austin, such as their monthly Mutts & Martinis event.
