Rainforest Partnership—a local nonprofit that partners with tropical forest communities to protect the Rainforest—will be holding their sixth annual international film contest, Films for the Forest (F3), on Sunday, March 15th at Marchesa Theater, 6404 N IH 35 #3100. Films will be screened from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a reception being held immediately after the film screening.

The goal of F3 is to bring awareness about the importance of climate change and threats faced by forests and their communities. The theme of this year’s contest is ImaginEarth. Filmmakers are encouraged to create inspiring forest-related films using the their interpretation of this theme with an environmental topic to create a unique film for submission. Films may be submitted to two different categories. The “Short Shorts”
category requires that films are 4 minutes or less, and films in the “Shorts” category are to be 40 minutes and under. Submissions are accepted from both adults and children, and there is no entry fee for submissions from those who are in grades K-12. Submission fee for all other contest entries is $30 for “Short Shorts” and $40 “Shorts.”
