The Godfather of the American Tattoo, Norman ‘Sailor Jerry‘ Collins built his reputation in a small shop in the Hotel St. district of WWII-era Honolulu, where a density of bars, brothels and tattoo parlors enabled sailors and GI’s on shore leave to get ‘stewed, screwed and tattooed’ in just a few hours. Collins built an unprecedented body of work – some it beautiful, some of it lewd, much of it both. Comprised of a large variety original flash, art and sketches, this SXSW debut is the first time the collection will be seen in the U.S. View this collection Thursday 3/19 – Saturday 3/21 from 12pm-6pm at 908 E 5th St. #106.
