In 1870, the United States Census first counted “Females engaged in each occupation.”  During World War II, women flooded the U.S. workforce, and in 1964, the Civil Rights Act outlawed workplace discrimination towards women.  But workplace discrimination still runs rampant today as recent statistics show that men are paid higher salaries and women struggle to achieve the workplace success they deserve.

While combatting workplace discrimination may be challenging, it’s not impossible.  In his presentation, “Cracking the Glass Ceiling,” Jeff Davis will cover new and relevant data regarding women in the workplace—including myths that keep women from advancing in the workplace, the persistence of the gender wage gap, various forms of workplace discrimination and why many women don’t report it, and what you can do to fight these challenges and find the right employer for you.
