In 1870, the United States Census first counted “Females engaged in each occupation.”  During World War II, women flooded the U.S. workforce, and in 1964, the Civil Rights Act outlawed workplace discrimination towards women.  But workplace discrimination still runs rampant today as recent statistics show that men are paid higher salaries and women struggle to achieve the workplace success they deserve.

While combatting workplace discrimination may be challenging, it’s not impossible.  In his presentation, “Cracking the Glass Ceiling,” Jeff Davis will cover new and relevant data regarding women in the workplace—including myths that keep women from advancing in the workplace, the persistence of the gender wage gap, various forms of workplace discrimination and why many women don’t report it, and what you can do to fight these challenges and find the right employer for you.

SPEAKER: Jeff Davis is the Owner of Mammoth Recruiting.  He is a graduate of UCLA and has an extensive background in Human Resources, Recruiting, and Staffing. He has worked as a Human Resources and Recruiting Professional for several companies, including Los Angeles based accounting firm Singer Lewak which was named one of The Best Places to Work in Los Angeles by the Los Angeles Business Journal during his tenure. Mr. Davis has also served as a Corporate Recruiter for Aerotek, the largest privately held staffing firm in the United States, Forever 21, one of the largest retailers in the world, and Manpower Group.  Born and raised in Southern California, Mr. Davis now resides in Austin, Texas. He founded Mammoth Recruiting in 2014.
