Entertainment: A Very Jerry Christmas

1986

With Christmas close on our heels, many of us are looking to get into the holiday spirit. And while we’re so used to the usual Christmas movies and Nutcracker shows as a means to celebrate the season, it may be worth it to switch it up with something just as merry, but with a fun twist: “A Very Jerry Christmas.” Austin’s famous Rebecca Havemeyer – the ageless queen once called “America’s Honky Dove,” with an unforgettable southern drawl and razor sharp wit that never fails to entertain and Stanley Roy, a Cheer Up Charlies favorite returning to Austin to put on a Christmas spectacular you won’t want to miss, are kicking off the three-night show this Friday.

Witness “a new mysterious holiday shit show unfold,” as Havemeyer, Roy and friends deck the halls with “new rituals, bad decisions, stiff cocktails, and professional choreography…mostly.” The event features multi-media artist and performer Silky Shoemaker, interpretive dance ensemble Little Stolen Moments, composer Russell Reed and more. Guests who bring a ‘Toy For Tots’ gift to any show get $5 off a ticket purchase at the door.
