Wizard World, Inc. (OTCBB: WIZD) continues its 2017 schedule with its eighth trip to the Austin Convention Center at Wizard World Comic Con Austin, November 17-19. Jason Momoa (Aquaman, Justice League), Kate Beckinsale (Underworld, Van Helsing), Val Kilmer (Batman Forever, Top Gun), Gene Simmons (KISS frontman), the “Firefly” trio of Summer Glau (“Arrow”), Jewel Staite (“Stargate: Atlantis”) and Sean Maher (“The Playboy Club”), Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy, “The Walking Dead”) and Nichelle Nichols (“Star Trek”) headline the roster of celebrity guests scheduled to attend the comic con and pop culture extravaganza. Momoa, Simmons, Glau, Staite and Maher are scheduled to appear on Saturday and Sunday, November 18-19; the others above will be on hand all three days.

 

Wizard World Comic Con events bring together thousands of fans of all ages to celebrate the best in pop culture: movies, television, gaming, live entertainment, comics, sci-fi, graphic novels, toys, original art, collectibles, contests and more. The 14th and final event scheduled on the 2017 Wizard World calendar, Austin show hours are Friday, November 17, 4-9 p.m.; Saturday, November 18, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, November 19, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Kids 10 and under are admitted free with paid adult.

 

Wizard World Comic Con Austin is also the place for cosplay, with fans young and old showing off their best costumes throughout the event. Fans dressed as every imaginable character – and some never before dreamed – will roam the convention floor and participate in the famed Wizard World Costume Contest on Saturday evening.

Flutist Seetha Shivaswamy and Canadian pianist Graham Yates once again team up to present a unique and exciting twist on the typical classical music concert. Building on the success of their previous program, Cliches and Contrasts, they now present a lighthearted program that showcases the elegance of traditional European composers paired with an adventurous exploration of pop music, improvisation… and some surprises! Seetha & Graham delight audiences with their playful interaction and virtuosic technique. With a warm, personal approach to performing, these musicians create a friendly atmosphere that engages listeners and sends them home with a sense of fun and wonder.

The Texas K.G.B. announces official album release Nov. 18 at The Mohawk

Austin’s very own “Original Americana” band The Texas K.G.B is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of their album, “Welcome Home” on Nov. 18. There will be an official album release party on Saturday, Nov. 18 at The Mohawk (indoors) located at 912 Red River St., Austin, Texas 78701 with special guests Cartright and Croy & The Boys. The Texas K.G.B. (Kelly Green Band) creates music that represents a unique blend of Americana, classic rock, country, blues and a touch of funk. The band is a quartet made up of Kelly Green on the lead and slide guitar and vocals, Jace on the rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Kody Lee on the drums, saxophone and vocals and Violet Lea on the bass and vocals.

All songs were written and performed by The Texas K.G.B. and recorded at The Fabulous 512 Studios in Austin, Texas. The album was produced by Omar Vallejo and The Texas K.G.B. and engineered by Omar Vallejo and Kevin Abbenante. Executive producers are J.W. Cadle and Deborah Osgood. Album design and artwork is by Sydney Dettmar. Songwriting credits include Kelly Green for “Welcome Home,” “Frangela,” “Burnt Spoons,” and “Funk 69.” “The Way” was written by Jace and Violet Lea wrote the tracks “Where Does Love Go” and “Deeper.”
