A Room With a Few - Oktoberfest! German Lieder and Drinking Songs
Private Home in West Lake Hills – Address will be emailed to you out of respect for the host’s privacy, Austin TX10/22/2017 | 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Celebrate a unique Oktoberfest of famous song cycles and German toasts! Join Natalie Cummings, soprano, Austin Bradley, baritone, and Graham Yates, piano for a program of German Lieder and drinking songs. Schumann’s sumptuous and enigmatic Dichterliebe (Poet’s Love) headlines the evening with a moving tale of love lost for eternity. As a refreshing chaser, Strauss’ Mädchenblumen (Maiden Flowers) is a strikingly more innocent perspective on romance. Then, lift your glass to traditional Trinklieder (drinking songs) and enjoy a beautiful evening among friends, old and new. |
