Our Goal is to bring awareness of unity, equality, while building a community of support. This is our second year of building this tradition in our City of San Marcos. Chesiel John and Christopher Newland Sept 3-27, 2015

Link & Pin Art & Event Space, Austin Texas
09/12/2015 | 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Chesiel John and Christopher Newland

Link & Pin presents local artists, Chesiel John and Christopher Newland.  John is an assemblage artist that draws inspiration from the musicians of her home island, Trinidad. Newland seeks the limits of paint and technique and also draws inspiration from the infinite potential of music.

The powerful example of industrial waste reclaimed and turned into musical instruments has steered John as she explores her artistic agenda. Even the most common of objects, discarded as no longer useful, can, in the hands of an artist, be given new purpose and offered as yet another way to examine and celebrate the joys of life.

Newland works in the fields of fine arts photography, studio painting, and independent literature. Open to new experiences, he seeks to understand the world through artistic expression.

This show is on exhibit at Link & Pin from September 3 through September 27, 2015.

Artists’ reception is September 12, 7-9p.

Link & Pin is located at 2235 East Sixth Street, #102.  Gallery hours are from 2-6, Thursday through Saturday and Sunday from 11-4p.
