Bad Kid is the hilariously heartwarming tale of a goth boy who dreamed of being anywhere but the middle of Texas in 1991. The setting is specific but the story is universal as David Crabb reflects on rebellion, sexuality, friendship and what it means to grow up different and alone – just like everyone else.

Chris Thile, mandolin
Edgar Meyer, bass

Mandolinist/composer Chris Thile, of Punch Brothers, and bassist/composer Edgar Meyer will team up again in Fall 2014. These two MacArthur Fellows will cross traditional boundaries in a diverse program of largely original music. The duo has collaborated on several critically acclaimed projects including the Grammy-­‐winning Goat Rodeo Sessions (2011), a recording of original compositions (2008, Nonesuch Records) and, most recently, Chris Thile’s 2013 solo recording, Bach: Sonatas and Partitas, Vol. 1, produced by Meyer. The duo’s next recording of new original materials will be released in 2014 on Nonesuch Records.

Annie is a dancer, strong as hell and driven. After witnessing the fall of the twin towers, Annie heads to Japan to study Butoh, looking for a dance form that expresses the destruction she can’t comprehend. Ten years later, Annie is diagnosed with stage four cancer and returns to Butoh to prepare for her final dance.
