Give 5% To Mother Earth

Give 5% to Mother Earth is an annual Earth Day campaign that raises funds and awareness for local environmental nonprofits working to protect and preserve our natural resources in Central Texas.

Give 5 partners with more than 100 local businesses who pledge to donate 5% of sales on Friday, April 22nd – in honor of Earth Day – to Give 5’s 9 nonprofit beneficiaries, each of which is working to keep Austin clean, green, and healthy. This year’s benefiting nonprofits include: Hill Country Conservancy, Shoal Creek Conservancy, Austin Parks Foundation, Sustainable Food Center, Waller Creek Conservancy, Pease Park Conservancy, Treefolks, Friends of Barton Springs Pool, and Texas Campaign for the Environment Fund.

“William Cauthern Presents”

Exhibit Dates:  April 21 – April 30, 2017 Fri-Sat-Sun 11:00 AM-4:00 PM

Artist reception:  April 21, 2017 Friday 5:30 PM– 8:00 PM

William Cauthern is an accomplished sculptor, printmaker and art educator. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in sculpture and a minor in printmaking from the University of Texas at Austin in 1998. An experienced educator, he has been a member the McCallum Visual Arts faculty since 2002, where he currently teaches sculpture and printmaking.

He developed his early painting and drawing skills under the direction of Madelon Umlauf, focusing primarily on abstract oil and acrylic work. He later studied sculpture with sculptor, Steve Daly and was eventually introduced to printmaking by Nigerian woodcutter, Christopher Adejumo. William Cauthern recognized his affinity for sculpture and printmaking through his work with these two artists and continues to specialize in both types of media today

This show will be immediately followed by McCallum Fine Arts Academy Spring Show beginning May 5.

Art for the People is going HUGE with 37 local artists. We will be creating a visual adventure with ​Flower Power & ​The Mighty Vignettes​!!! Art for the People is committed to showcasing the supreme talent of ATx artists and their artwork in the form of handcrafted furniture, wall art, sculpture, textiles, ceramics and some surprises!!!!

Flower Power ​is an ​exhibition that embraces the diversity of florals through different interpretations from scientific, photorealism, 3D, mixed media, abstract, and watercolor.

The Mighty Vignettes​ is a microcosm of the beauty of what is possible when interior furnishings & artwork is crafted by Austin artists. Each small staged scene within T​he Mighty Vignettes w​ill involve 6-12+ artists.
